Mattresses for tourist apartments: Gaia Rooms’ success story in Barcelona

Gaia Rooms is a Spanish tourist accommodation management company. At the end of 2025, it had to equip apartments in Barcelona that were due to go on the market on January 1, 2026. For the beds, it chose the Morfeo H2 Compact hotel mattress and our upholstered base, made to order in Spain.

The challenge: eleven beds ready before opening

The project required 8 single beds measuring 90x190 and 3 double beds measuring 150x190, each with its own mattress and an anthracite grey upholstered base. The deadline was the same as any opening: construction was finishing in December and the apartments had to be ready to receive guests on January 1.

The solution: H2 Compact mattress and upholstered base

For apartments with high turnover, Gaia Rooms opted for the H2 Compact hotel mattress, the foam model in our hotel range:

• 33 kg/m³ Compact Form Pro core: high-density foam that maintains its shape from stay to stay.
• 50 kg/m³ Visco Ultra memory foam on both sides, with high firmness.
• Double-sided and 25 cm: it can be turned to distribute wear and fits standard hospitality covers and protectors.
• Flame-retardant by composition, with anti-mite and bactericidal treatment.
• Springless: quiet and easy to handle in the day-to-day life of the apartment.

Delivered on time for the opening

We manufactured the order to order in Spain and coordinated the delivery with the end of construction: the beds arrived before Christmas, in time for the apartments to go on the market on January 1.

What Gaia Rooms thinks of Morfeo

«We are very satisfied, both with the product and the service received. We will work together on many projects.»

Natalia Melero, FF&E Manager at Gaia Rooms

Why a foam mattress in tourist apartments

In a tourist apartment, the mattress changes guests almost every night, is moved during cleaning, and needs to last several seasons. High-density foam handles this pace well, makes no noise, and weighs less than a spring mattress, something that is appreciated in single beds. If your accommodation has mostly double rooms, the H SAC pocket-sprung mattress provides bed independence, as in the case of Miluna; for superior rooms, there is the ProSuite.
