Frequently Asked Questions
What is the "stitched perimeter edge" and why does Alma highlight it?
It is a crisp seam that runs around the entire perimeter of the upholstery, defining the profile of the base with clean lines. It works as a tailoring detail: it accentuates the volume, gives rigidity to the finish, and visually distinguishes Alma from conventional upholstered bases — where the upholstery flows without a defined outline. It is the difference between a designer piece of furniture and a functional support.
How does Alma differ from Naxos?
Both share matte black metal legs and a contemporary design. The visual difference lies in the upholstery: Alma features a stitched perimeter edge that runs around the entire outline and gives it the character of a tailored piece. Naxos has clean and uniform upholstery, without a defined outline, with a more industrial profile. Alma is for bedrooms where details matter; Naxos is for bedrooms where visual boldness without ornamentation is the priority.
What makes the multi-perforated board special?
The perforations distributed across the entire surface of the board allow air to circulate freely between the base and the mattress. This prevents moisture buildup, helps prevent mold, and extends the life of the mattress — especially important for memory foam or hybrid mattresses, which tend to retain heat and moisture.
What is its exact height?
32.5 cm in total: 19 cm of upholstered board + 13.5 cm of matte black leg. It is the highest base in the Morfeo catalog, ideal for sitting comfortably with your feet on the floor and for airing out the room.
How does the non-slip upholstery work? Will my mattress move when I change the sheets?
It does not move. The top fabric has a technical finish that keeps the mattress in place. When you change the sheets, the mattress remains exactly where you left it. It is one of Alma's most practical features and one of the most common questions about upholstered bases.
Is it compatible with any mattress?
Yes. Alma works with any standard mattress between 90×190 and 160×200, whether memory foam, pocket-sprung, latex, or hybrid. You do not have to buy the mattress from Morfeo: we accept any brand. If you have questions about your current model, message us on WhatsApp with the brand and dimensions.
Can I combine it with a headboard?
Yes, with wall-mounted headboards (those that attach to the wall, not to the base). If your headboard has legs or screws into the bed frame, it is not compatible. Alma pairs especially well with clean-lined, unadorned headboards — consistent with its minimalist philosophy. View our headboard collection.
